Who This Course Is For
This course is for anyone overwhelmed by the supplement aisle and tired of conflicting advice, who wants a clear, bioenergetic strategy for which supplements actually support metabolism, hormones, and long-term health — and which ones quietly do harm.
Why Most Supplement Advice Hurts More Than Helps
A huge number of popular supplements are based on pharmaceutical thinking — “boost” this pathway, “block” that one — without considering how they affect cellular energy, the thyroid, or the liver. The result is people taking long lists of products that leave them more tired, more reactive, and further from real health than when they started.
The Bioenergetic Framework
I created this course based on the Ray Peat–aligned, bioenergetic approach that completely changed how I think about supplements. The goal is not to push or block, but to give the cell what it needs to produce energy efficiently. From that foundation, hormones, digestion, mood, and recovery all begin to work properly again.
The Core Supportive Nutrients
You’ll learn which nutrients are genuinely worth supplementing — including vitamin D in the right dose, vitamin K2, the natural form of vitamin E, magnesium, calcium, and the supportive B-vitamins — and how to combine them so they actually work together rather than competing.
Hormonal Support Supplements
I walk you through the supplements that directly support hormonal health, including thyroid glandulars, progesterone, and pregnenolone. You’ll learn what high-quality versions look like, how to dose them, and how to use them safely as part of a complete strategy rather than as isolated fixes.
Gut, Liver & Mineral Support
A bioenergetic protocol always considers the gut, the liver, and mineral balance. I share the targeted supplements I trust for gentle gut support, healthy bile flow, and mineral repletion — and how to use them without overloading your system.
What to Avoid and Why
Just as important as what to take is what to leave out. You’ll learn why I avoid most fish-oil and PUFA-heavy supplements, supplemental iron unless truly needed, and many of the popular adaptogens, anti-thyroid herbs, and aggressive “detox” products that quietly slow metabolism over time.
Trusted Brand Recommendations
I share the specific brands I trust, where to find them, and how to build a streamlined, effective supplement strategy that fits your life. By the end of this course, you’ll know exactly what belongs in your cabinet, what doesn’t, and why — so you can stop wasting money on products that don’t serve you.

Course Phases & Modules
3 phases · 7 modules
Phase 1: Why Supplements? Risks and Benefits
In this phase, you will learn why Doctor Ray Peat warned that the supplement market is full of products that quietly do more harm than good — and why a small, well-chosen group of vitamins and nutrients can still play an important therapeutic role. You will see which supplements he advised against, which he endorsed, and why nutrient-rich foods such as orange juice, liver, eggs, milk, cheese, shellfish, and cooked greens remain the foundation of metabolic health.
Risk and Benefits of Supplements
Doctor Peat warned that many pills and capsules contain additives and fillers that can be absorbed by the body, and that the supplement market is full of misleading claims. In this module, you read his risk-and-benefits picture in his own framing.
Supplements Dr. Peat Warned Against
Fish oils, iron, iodine, carotene, flax seeds, seed oils, tryptophan, and glutamic acid — Doctor Peat warned that all of these can trigger inflammation, suppress the immune system, disrupt hormonal balance, and harm the thyroid.
Beneficial Supplements at a Glance
Vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin D, vitamin K, niacinamide (B3), thiamine (B1), calcium carbonate, and aspirin — the supplements Doctor Peat emphasised for their therapeutic benefits.
Phase 2: Dangerous Fillers and Additives in Pills
Most of the harm from a supplement does not come from the active ingredient — it comes from the binders, fillers, gums, and preservatives that hold the pill together. In this phase, you will learn why microcrystalline cellulose, silica, titanium dioxide, carrageenan, and the sulfite preservatives are so often the hidden cause of allergy, digestive trouble, and low-grade inflammation, and how to read a supplement label with confidence.
Sickness Binders in Pills
Carrageenan, microcrystalline cellulose, silica, and titanium dioxide are the everyday fillers in pills, capsules, and processed foods. In this module, you learn why Doctor Peat called these compounds anything but inert.
Dangerous Additives
The full "Dangerous Additives" chapter from How to Boost Metabolism with Food, with all of Doctor Peat's citations preserved — carrageenan and other thickeners, binders and fillers in pills, and the sulfite preservatives.
Phase 3: Choosing Quality Supplements
Once you know which supplements help, which ones harm, and which fillers to keep out of your drawer, the practical question becomes how to choose. In this phase, you bring the foundational lessons together: which supplements are most beneficial for metabolic and hormonal health, how to choose high-quality products, and how to think about dosing in line with Doctor Peat's food-first principles.
Essential Supplements Overview
Learn which supplements are most beneficial for metabolic and hormonal health, against the foundational principle that nutrient-rich foods come first.
Supplement Quality and Dosing
How to choose high-quality supplements and determine proper dosages — built on Doctor Peat's warnings about pill fillers and his food-first principle.
