What Is Hashimoto's Thyroiditis?

Autoimmune diseases are considered lifelong and irreversible, with Hashimoto's expected to progress over time, eventually requiring lifelong medication. This perspective assumes that the immune system is malfunctioning and that the antibodies themselves are the cause of the disease.
